Product Description
Engineered for peak performance at the point-of-sale (POS), the IBM SurePOS 500 Series delivers the style, serviceability and state-of-the-art technology that you need to optimize the shopping experience in food service, hospitality, specialty and gas and convenience. Specifically, the new model 565 includes a 2.53 GHz Intel Celeron D processor for exceptional multimedia, a Serial ATA 2 hard disk drive, up to 2GB of DDR2 memory, and a streamlined design that helps make it easier to access replaceable units such as the hard drive and the power supply. All models feature a sleek look, a space-saving footprint, systems management technology, system-matched peripherals, an open systems architecture to run POS applcations, flexible connectivity for new and existing peripherals, and active matrix infrared (IR) touchscreen displays.

Config Notes
| The 4846-565 requires a patch to update the Product file for the 4846 SATA drivers. It is available at: http://support.novell.com/techcenter/psdb/ce07dc7316e572a97c533b517c9c9ec6.html The 4846 also requires a different video driver than will be autodetected by NLPOS. In the /etc/X11/XF86Config file you should change the Driver option to "vesa" in order to use a driver available in NLPOS9. Use of DPMS (Off, Suspend, Standby) does not work on the 4846-565 with the "vesa" driver. |
