Product Description
Within the BladeFrame® and BladeFrame ES systems, Processing Blades provide the processing capacity needed to run applications. To accommodate a range of customer requirements, Egenera offers both two-way SMP and four-way SMP Processing Blade (pBlade™) configurations based on Intel microprocessor technology. The Intel® Xeon™ processor delivers Intel's highest frequency for dual-processor servers. In addition, the Intel® Xeon™ processor MP brings industry-leading compute power to Egenera's four-way Processing Blades to run enterprise-class applications such as databases, middleware, media servers and business intelligence.

| SLES 8 - SP3: Boot medium for initial installation: Tftp-loaded customized boot image based on United Linux 1.0 SP3 CD: Created by Egenera preliminary install script. Installation method via NFS. Immediate update to SP3 auto included in the NFS installation server setup. Gigabit ethernet interface only tested in a 100 MBit network environment. |
