Config Notes
| SLES 7
* Certified for Kernel 2.4.18 + Patch-CD2
o NEEDED: manual Ethernet driver entries in /etc/modules.conf: alias eth0 bcm5700; alias eth1 bcm5700.
* Certified for Kernel 2.4.18 + Patch-CD3
o NEEDED: disable DMA on CD-ROM drive to avoid System CRASHES.
|
| SLES 8
* NEEDED: kernel boot parameters "apic" and "acpi=oldboot". |
| SLES 8 - SP2a
* NEEDED: kernel boot parameter "acpi=oldboot".
* YaST2 installation can't identify /dev/cciss/c0d0 as first HDD and therefore creates a faulty Bootloader
GRUB config: /boot/grub/{devices,menu.lst}. This turns the system unable to boot from /dev/cciss/c0d0.
Workaround: use the rescue system to adapt these files ( /dev/cciss/c0d0 should be GRUB drive (hd0) )
and invoke "grub-install /dev/cciss/c0d0" to properly re-install GRUB. |
| SLES 8 - SP3
* NEEDED: update kernel to "HP update kernel k_smp-2.4.21-198" immediately after initial installation of UL1 + SP3. |
