Config Notes
| SLES 8 - SP3
NEEDED: kernel boot parameter "apic".
Graphics setup from within YaST2 during installation
must be skipped in order to avoid a crash.
Instead:
configure the text console mode as 80x25
(boot parameter "vga=normal")and reboot
(the autoconfigured framebuffer text console would get
LOST after each XFree86 run. 80x25 mode is not affected).
now invoke the sax2 config utility from an 80x25 text console as follows:
sax2 -m 0=vesa |
