Product Description
The Exabyte Eliant 820 is a low cost 8mm digital helical-scan tape subsystem, which is packaged in the industry standard 5.25-inch half-high form factor. The tape drive transfers data at a rate of up to 2 megabytes per second with 2:1 compression, and can store up to 14 gigabytes of compressed data on a single data cartridge. The Eliant 820 drive writes and reads in 8500C and 8500 formats on metal particle (mp) tape. It reads 8200 format on mp tape. The Eliant 820 supports single-ended or differential SCSI, SCSI-2 and synchronous mode.
