Product Description
Sun's Sun Blade X6440 Server Module is the first four-socket AMD Opteron (quad-core) blade for use in the Sun Blade 6000 and 6048 Modular Systems. A fast, reliable, and expandable x64 blade server that runs SLES® 9, the Sun Blade X6440 Server Module is a key component in standardizing your infrastructure, helping to lower total cost of ownership (TCO) and simplifying data center management, all without compromise. Powered by four AMD Opteron™ (quad-core) processors, up to 6 (x8) and 2 (x4) PCIe Interfaces, and up to 256 GB of DDR2 system memory, the Sun Blade X6440 Server Module provides the compute power and I/O expandability required to meet your needs now and into the future.

Config Notes
| 1) General purpose serial port functionality is not provided by the hardware. Therefore the serial port is supported only for accessing the ILOM and the serial port certification test has been waived. |
| 2) PXE Boot, OS Installed via Network. The OS was installed via PXE Enabled NIC boot, and network install. |
| 3) SLES-9-SP4 (x86_64): System was tested with rev 312 kernel update to solve low memory issues. This update is available from support.novell.com or standard online update methods. |
