Product Description
Sun Blade 6000 Disk Module is a disk module for Sun Blade 6000 Modular System. The Sun Blade 6000 Disk Module doesn't contain a CPU or Service Processor. It does contain SAS expanders, which are switching circuits that can connect disks in complex patterns. A fully loaded Sun Blade 6000 Disk Module consists of eight SAS disks, with each disk connected to two SAS expanders. The SAS expanders, in turn, each connect to a larger SAS expander in one of the Sun Blade 6000 Modular System chassis' SAS-NEM. Each of the SAS expanders in the disk module connects to one SAS-NEM. For a fully functional combination of a server module with a disk module, two SAS-NEM modules are required. If only one SAS-NEM is used, the feature of multiple paths for SAS disks in the disk module is lost. http://www.sun.com/ (search for Sun Blad 6000 Disk Module)
