I've been using Hula since February 2005 on FreeBSD. I've written gethula (http://cryer.us/hula) which downloads, builds and installs Hula on multiple platforms, but with the specific goal of keeping builds patched so that they will cleanly compile and run on FreeBSD. Some work has been done with OS X and NetBSD as well, but my primary focus is on FreeBSD, and creating a port to become part of the FreeBSD tree.
