In this article I mention Also note the line touch /usr/src/packages/SOURCES/gaim-1.5.0.tar.gz. I am not sure why this is necessary but it is. A friendly reader wrote in an told me that it is required because in my spec file I have the line source: %{name}-%{version}.tar.gz. He further mentioned that the source: ... line may not be necessary and thus both lines can probably be safely removed. If I ever test this I'll make the change in the main article, but for now this notice will have to suffice.
