Regarding mailing lists and NNTP: Has there been consideration to implement a mail-to-news gateway and manage all the threaded discussions via mailing lists, but offer an NNTP interface instead for those that want it? What are the pros and cons of this? --Matt ryan 14:08, 3 Nov 2005 (MST)
There has been extinsive thought about that. Right now, it would take the creation of something new. A new application. I have not been able to find any existing app that will scale well enough anyway. Actually, I've got this working now. The mailman gateway suddenly started working about a month ago on my project (pwm). NNTP posts get pushed to the mailing lists and vice-versa.
Thats true, we currently have separate news and mail servers that can be sync'd via mailman. What we have been looking for is a single application that will allow us to set up a discussion area and all users to get the information any way they want to, nntp, mail, im, etc. --Devsupaul 11:17, 29 Nov 2005 (MST)
