TID101863 (IRDBR1) - CVPACK exception 0xc0000005 on large symbol file

ABSTRACT:

Developer experienced a 0xc0000005 exception when running CVPACK on an 5.8 MB NLM symbol file in preparation to use Rdebug.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Developer was running on NT4, service pack 3. Message is as follows:

Microsoft (R) Debugging Imformation Compator Version 4.26

          • cvpack INTERNAL ERROR, exception code = 0xc0000005 *****

Developer was running CVPACK from the command line. After using a WLINK directive OPTION CVPACK instead of the command line, the problem went away.
