SETUPNLS.NLM: Error Logging In As Specified User when entering Administrator Name and Password.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

SETUPNLS.NLM performs a Directory Services Login/Authentication. The following incident has been reported:

PROBLEM

After entering the Administrator Name and Password the message is displayed "Error logging in as specified user. Password may be incorrect ". Even after verifying that the password is correct, the user still cannot authenticate to NDS.

This has confused users because the problem is not an incorrect password. The problem is because the Admin object is not in the server default context. Therefore the Admin object could not be located.

SOLUTION

Use a fully distinguished name, for example .Admin.Novell to specify the exact location of the Admin object
