TITLE: Byte alignment issue for Win32 EXEs

DOCUMENT ID: TID100350

DOCUMENT REVISION: A

DATE: 01/11/96 01:56pm

ALERT STATUS: Yellow

INFORMATION TYPE: Issue

README FOR: W32ALIGN.EXE

NOVELL PRODUCT CLASS:

NetWare API

NOVELL PRODUCT and VERSION:

NetWare SDK 1.0e

CATEGORY:

Client SDK - WIN32

ABSTRACT:

The Novell NT SDK structures are aligned on 4 byte boundaries. The beta Win95 SDK structures are aligned on 1 byte boundaries. This means that a Win32 app compiled with the Novell NT SDK that uses structures will not work on Novell's Win95 client and vice versa.

To solve this problem, the release version of the Win95 client will be changed to align on 4 byte boundaries.
