Red Carpet is installed when you install the Novell Linux Desktop Or, if your Linux distribution is listed on the ximian ftp site, you can download only the pieces of Red Carpet that you plan to use. In addition to the required Red Carpet Daemon (rcd), you need either the Red Carpet GUI (red-carpet) or the Red Carpet command-line client (rug).
The Forge red carpet service is no longer available. We plan on bringing this service back at some point, but do not have a date.
