Python DeskTop Portals

This project was born from my using the current Desktop Portals program that was created by Rich Stevenson. I really liked what he had done and wanted to add to it. One of the problems with the program is that is written in VB and cannot run on Mac or Linux machines.

I chose Python as I had an interest to learn it and also that is was portable to other operating systems.

I have created the GUI with PythonCard and have a basic working program.

My aims are as follows.

To allow import of old portal pages that were created with Rich's version.
To have the program store the server details in a retrievable format.
To allow for Network scanning using NMAP to find servers and add them to the list.
To allow for FTP of the portal files to a intranet/website

I would appreciate some help as I have just started learning Python. I am sure that someone can offer quick solutions to the problems I have at the moment

Status

Currently in the process of creating the alpha 0.1 version. Any Python developers that want to help would be great
