[edit] MissionThe mission of the OMC project is to provide an open software development environment that produces standards based implementations of tools, providers and infrastructure software based on the Common Information Model (CIM). The project adheres to a standard of merit that recognizes and rewards individuals who demonstrate a sustained commitment to the project and its ideals. It embraces open software development through collaboration that is respectful, honest and technically-based. While the OMC-project is driven by technology its ultimate goal is to provide the end-user with sound, secure, and usable CIM-based software. [edit] CharterOMC is an open-source umbrella project that includes implementations of the Open Standards management profiles and specs defined by the DMTF (Distributed Management Task Force), associated tools and utilities, and other CIM / DMTF related projects. If it's open-standards implementation using CIM, it fits in the OMC-Project. OMC will be guided by the following principles:
