Novell® Teaming and Novell Teaming + Conferencing are two new team workspace and real-time collaboration additions to Novell's workgroup product line. These solutions will help boost end-user and team productivity and reduce overall customer costs by improving the everyday business processes people engage in to create, share, discuss and manage information. They also support a new model for technical and business innovation Novell calls “open collaboration,” which describes the open source technology development process that allows customers and partners to participate in product innovation, the actual tools that allow for customer choice, and a way of working to increase team effectiveness and organizational success.

Team + Conferencing (T+C) is based on the open source project, ICEcore. T+C also offers interfaces that allow software developers to interact with T+C.
ICEcore is the first open source collaboration suite to unify team workspaces with real-time conferencing, and Novell is leveraging this project with the addition of enterprise-level features, testing, training and support to deliver Novell Teaming + Conferencing. The ICEcore project offers an alternative to proprietary software development—one that welcomes innovations from customers and partners. Contributors can submit product enhancements or customizations to the ICEcore project. Those innovations can then be shared with the open source community and incorporated into subsequent releases of Novell open collaboration products. In this way, new capabilities are developed more quickly, resulting in a more complete and cost-effective team productivity solution. Learning more about ICEcore here.
The Novell Teaming 1.0.2 Web Services Guide provide software developers with tools that allow them to access T+C from an application other than the standard browser interface. Using Java Web Services applications can easily exchange information back and forth with T+C. For access to the Novell Teaming 1.0.2 Web Services Guide go here.
