The NSS Audit SDK provides an API framework that applications can use to track and log all OES Linux NSS file and directory access events.
The APIs in this SDK interface with the NSS Audit engine (known as "vigil"), which is included in OES 2 SP2. The SDK includes the following:
- novell-vigil-devel rpm package (available for 32-bit and 64-bit): NSS Audit library ("libvigil"), required header files, and source code and binaries for the vdump sample auditing client.
- NSS Audit SDK doc: An overview of the NSS Audit ("vigil") framework and descriptions of all APIs provided by libvigil.
- NSS Audit Slide Deck: A technical presentation which describes the NSS Audit architecture and how its components create audit records for NCP, CIFS, and AFP access of NSS files.
Note: Applications created using the NSS Audit SDK cannot be used on OES NetWare or on any OES Linux versions previous to OES 2 SP2.
