LDAP Libraries for C enables you to write applications to access, manage, update, and search for information stored in Novell eDirectory® and other LDAP-aware directories. The LDAP libraries provide access to eDirectory based on the C LDAP API, which is based on the draft proposed to the IETF. Portions of the source for this component are also based on the Directory SDK (Version 2.0), which is available from OpenLDAP.

New SDK Available
The Novell LDAP Extended Library (novell-ldapextd) is aimed at applications working with OpenLDAP SDK and wish to use some of Novell C LDAP SDK's additional featres like, SSL related functionalities , Schema functionalities & LDAP Extensions.

Build Changes
From June 2008 release onwards,
*LDAP Libraries will be built on
# SLES 9 SP3 for Linux
# VS 2005 for Windows
*Borland Turbo Compiler builds will not be available / supported.
