JunetsuWebApps

From Developer Community

The following web apps are used for registration and administration of the Junetsu system.

Registration When a network device first connects to the network they will be directed to this webapp (no matter where they direct their web browser, similar to the Hotel networks you are probably familiar with). Once the register and authenticate, the user is prompted to either repair their network connection (which does a DHCP release and renew) or restart their computer for it to get a real network address from the DHCP server. (the IDM drivers send an event down to the DHCP server once they have registered, and near real time, they are permitted, without having to reroute networks or any other network wizardry).

  • Simple Registration (registers your current device, anything with a web browser)

  • Advanced Registration (registering other devices such as your network attached toaster)

  • Registration Management

Administration The Administration Apps allow similar functionality as the Designer plugin but available from the browser.

  • View Device Registration search by user, MAC, IP
  • Remove Registrations

Quarantine

  • For devices that get detected by HoneyD (for talking someplace they shouldn't, which can be caused by Worms, etc...) the device is no longer able to receive a IP address (after the lease expires) and participate in network fun.
  • With dhcp only options turned on your network switches this will not allow them to hard code and address either.
