For those who havenât heard, Novellâs open source Hula project was announced earlier this year. It's a new community project to create an open source collaboration server, with a goal to be fun and easy to use. The Hula server is built on open Internet standards â including SMTP, IMAP, iCalendar, and the emerging CalDAV calendar access protocol. The technology, derived primarily from the award-winning Netmail technology, provides a rich extensible architecture that enables its functionality to be easily extended to other projects. It can also scale to 250,000 registered users on a single PC with 50,000 simultaneous connected users. For more information, check out this site.
Novell recently hired Jeffrey Jaffe as our new chief technology officer. For all the pertinent details, click here.
