This is the first in a series of articles to explore building multi-tiered service-oriented systems on the JBoss 4.0 platform. This article outlines JBoss service-implementation fundamentals as well as techniques for instrumenting services using JBoss and JMX. See http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/feature/15271.html.
This is the latest article in a series of articles discussing service-oriented systems development on JBoss 4.0. In the previous article, we discussed how JBoss's use of plain Java objects and JMX-based management techniques enables service developers to define and implement services that can be deployed and configured in many different configurations to meet business demands. See http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/feature/15571.html.
The previous article offered some commentary on JBoss basics for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 with "An Introduction to JBoss." While the article covered a lot of ground, JBoss is a topic on such magnificent scale than no single article could do it justice. Luckily the hard work has already been done with JBoss 4.0 â The Official Guide from Sams Publishing. We examine the book here and look at the highlights you'll encounter. See http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/feature/15846.html.
