Amber is an open-source project, aiming to provide a stable cross-platform communications framework for .Net and Mono. It is aimed at hosting services to be exposed by common interfaces, and allowing communication to take place over popular protocols and formats, such as SOAP, POX, remoting, REST, XML-RPC, and WS-*. The code is completely written in C#, and will run on any operating system supported by either Mono, or the .Net framework.
