Novell Nterprise Linux Services (NLS) provides a set of robust and secured network services for Linux platform. It includes the following services:
- Directory Services (Novell eDirectory) that strengthen enterprise security and decrease management costs of cross-platform business systems.
- Security Services (Novell Linux User Management and Identity Manager 2) that provide single sign-on to different services.
- System Management (Novell iManager) for simplifying and reducing the costs of managing your business system platforms.
- Web Experience (Novell Virtual Office) providing integrated access to customers, employees and partners, anytime, anywhere.
- Installation and Patch Management (YaST and RedCarpet Enterprise) provides a single interface for installing packages and patches.
Throughout this course, you will gain basic knowledge of NLS and how to develop your applications using those services. You will be introduced to different sets of APIs which interface with NLS. You will also learn how to leverage the security and single sign-on functions from NLS for your applications.
