With the release of NetWare 6.5, there is a rich set of development tools and deployment engines for the Java developer. This webinar will focus on when and how to use the various Java development options presented by NetWare 6.5.
This webinar starts with simple development options using the Tomcat servlet JSP container, we then enhance the content to include a quick look at Novell exteNd Director Standard Edition and the power it offers when running on a NetWare 6.5 Apache Tomcat configuration. Finally, we provide a quick overview of the enterprise development options using the exteNd J2EE application server and exteNd Workbench which will ship with NetWare 6.5. We will briefly cover the powerful set of development tools that include exteNd Composer and exteNd Director Enterprise Edition for repurposing existing applications when business needs require legacy processes be moved to the web.

NetWare 6.5, the next major release of NetWare, offers a broad range of development options. This webinar is packed with useful information to give developers an overview of NetWare's ability to host Open Source solutions and utilities.
Novell has extended NetWare 6.5 Kernel Services to provide POSIX semantics that support products such as Apache, MySQL, PHP and Perl. The scripting support in NetWare 6.5 has extended the development reach of the NetWare platform substantially. Now developers can use basic scripts, PHP, Java, Perl or UCS components to build web based applications that provide dynamic content from MySQL running locally or remotely. NetWare 6.5 can also support a number of additional database options running remotely. Additionally, you'll see a number of readily available applications from hotscripts and forge running on the NetWare platform requiring little or no changes.
