Secure Access

Novell Secure Access Suite includes access and security products that simplify, secure and accelerate user-identity management and extend those capabilities to applications, platforms, databases, and network resources. Many of today's access and security solutions have their own identity stores and security policies, which are often scattered across several databases and directories. This can cause organizations to have to confront critical issues--including security vulnerabilities, increased administration and support costs, and reduced quality in the end user experience--in providing reliable access control and security management throughout mixed network environments.

In addition, typical security solutions don't accommodate the increasing number of users an organization encounters. Whether you're dealing with customers, partners or employees, your network needs consistent access control and security policies. As a result, you need an access security suite that encompasses all network Web sites, servers and applications, so they can work together--securely--as one Net. To solve this problem, Novell developed Novell Secure Access, an unmatched security suite that enables organizations to eliminate many security liabilities, reduce administrative and support costs, and improve the end user experience.

As the ideal security product for diverse networks, Novell Secure Access unifies identity management for Novell and non-Novell network resources. Novell Secure Access incorporates the following products to meet your organization's specific security needs:

  • Novell eDirectory--stores millions of identities, including detailed information about each user's roles and business relationships.

  • Novell Account Management (NAM)--protects your network by providing a way to centrally manage user accounts, passwords and authentication credentials, across all of your diverse platforms.

  • Novell iChain--identifies each user through eDirectory and follows company policies to deliver individualized resources.

  • Novell Modular Authentication Services (NMAS)--allows you to implement a variety of different authentication methods for the highest levels of network security.

  • Novell BorderManager--regulates authenticated user access to the Internet and accelerates digital-content delivery.

  • Novell SecureLogin--allows users to access multiple resources without having to authenticate more than once.

With its arsenal of directory-based security features--including strong encryption, single sign-on, reverse- and forward-proxy, and support for multiple authentication methods--Novell Secure Access makes it easy to control user.
