This course details how to implement an interactive Web site with NetWare 6, using technologies such as eDirectory, Apache Web Server, and Java. This course is the perfect way to get a quick introduction to the many Web-enabled benefits offered in NetWare 6.

Course Description and Requirements

Course Description	This course takes you through the process of programming/developing a custom Web site using tools that are included as a part of NetWare 6. The course also utilizes a few Novell Developer Kits (NDKs).
Course Objective	At the end of this course, you will have a solid understanding of how to utilize NetWare utilities to design and build a custom interactive Web site.
Estimated Time to Take this Course	2 - 8 hours of sustained effort.
Prerequisites	Basic understanding of NetWare Basic Java Programming Skills Basic eDiretory Administration Skills Basic Understanding of HTML Basic Understanding of Java Beans
Required Items	Class.zip download file NetWare 6 Test Server Windows-based workstation Windows compatible Internet Browser
Optional Items	Downloading the following from their respective Web sites or use the files provided in class.zip: JNDI 1.2.1 (http://java.sun.com/jndi) Novell eCommerce Beans (http://developer.novell.com/ndk/ecb.htm) JSSE 1.0.2 (integrated in to Java 2 SDK) LDAP Service Provider 1.2.2 (included in JNDI 1.2.1 download) Apache Web Server for NetWare 1.3.2.0 (http://apache.org or http://developer.novell.com) Tomcat 3.3 for NetWare (http://jakarta.apache.org/tomcat/index.html)
Required Setup	Since this course walks you through the installation of all required modules and programs, the only required setup is as follows: NetWare 6 server Windows-based workstation, preferably 2000, NT, or 98 Windows compatible Internet Browser

Course Overview

With the introduction of NetWare 6, Web site design and implementation has become a lot easier. This course will demonstrate how to create an interactive Web site that utilizes the power of NetWare 6. This project will employ NetWare 6, Apache Web Server, Tomcat Extensions for Apache, Java eCommerce Beans, eDirectory, and eDirectory Schema Extensions. We will look at each product from an overview perspective followed by how to install and use that product.
