DirXML Driver Installation Featuring the NT4 Domain Driver

eDirectory Installation Instructions

To install eDirectory do the following:

  1. Run the Setup.exe file from the NT directory on the eDirectory install CD (Figure 1).

  2. Accept the install language of preference.

  3. Choose the eDirectory and ConsoleOne install.

    Note:
    If you use the CD, ConsoleOne will be an installation option. Simply check the box and continue on with the installation.

  4. The Novell Client will automatically install.

  5. The the eDirectory product will start.

  1. Accept the License Agreement.

  2. Choose the appropriate language.

  3. Choose the install path.

    Note:
    The path you choose must be on an NTFS volume. (The install program will verify this.)

  4. Choose to install eDir into an existing tree or a new tree. (The new tree option will allow you to make the test self-contained, though you can choose to install into an existing tree.)

  5. Enter all information like Tree Name, Server Context, Admin Context and Admin Password.

  6. Accept the Certificate information as default.

  7. A summary screen appears. Verify all information and then click Finish to start the install.

  8. Once the install has completed you will get a dialog box stating that the install is complete. It might be hiding behind the DSTRACE screen. Keep an eye out for it.

The install for ConsoleOne will now start.

  1. Accept the license agreement

  2. The language choice dialog is next. English is the default but you can choose to include other languages as well.

  3. Choose your install path.

  4. Accept all Snap-ins. This will insure you install the DirXML Snap-ins.

  5. Accept the JI License agreement.

  6. Verify the summary screen and select Finish.

  7. Once the install is complete click Close.

  8. Verify the eDirectory install by going to the Control Panel and choosing NDS Services (Figure 2).

  1. Highlight ds.dlm and click on Configure (Figure 3). You will be able to see the NDS version and verify that it is at least 85.12a. Once verified, close out of the NDS Services dialog.
