NDK:NDAP BEANS DOCUMENTATION

Beans for Novell Services abstract major NetWare services into JavaBean components.

The NDAP Beans use Novell Directory Access Protocol (NDAP) for Novell eDirectory operations and access to all NetWare services is through Classes for Java and JNDI Providers (NJCL).

The NWDir Bean supports full access to Novell eDirectory, and additional beans provide features to manage NetWare volumes, session login, and directory mapping.

The following table contains a short description of Novell's JavaBeans. The icon representing each bean is also included in the table for reference.

Bean Description

The Directory Bean references Novell eDirectory, allowing you to add, delete, search, and manage directory entries, and to extend and manage elements of the Directory schema. See the NWDir Reference and the NWDir Class Diagram.

The Session Bean abstracts features of a network session, allowing you to login using the NetWare Client32 dialog box, list current drive maps, and run user-specific login scripts. See the NWSess Reference or the NWSess Class Diagram.

The Volume Administration Bean provides features to manage a NetWare volume, letting you access volume information (disk space, namespaces, modification dates) and manage directories and files. See the NWVolAdm Reference or the NWVolAdm Class Diagram.
